HC stays FBCCI polls for 2-month

The High Court yesterday stayed for two months the election of Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI).

In response to a writ petition, the HC bench comprising Justice Md Ashfaqul Islam and Justice Ashish Ranjan Das passed the order.
   Mymensingh Chambers of Commerce and Industry president Aminul Huq filed the writ petition for not including his voter list in the upcoming election scheduled to be held on May 14.
    Huq, in his petition alleged that there are anomalies in the voter list as his name was not included in the list.
As per the rule, a director should be nominated from each division. But no director from the newly-formed division Mymensingh was nominated for the upcoming polls. 
So the Mymensingh chamber president filed the writ in protest, Barrister Boddroddozza Badal, counsel for the petitioner said.
