Music show ‘Palki’ to present Gazi Mazharul Anwar’s songs

An exclusive music show titled ‘Palki’ has been produced with the songs of Ekushey Padak and National Film Award-winning film director-producer-distributor-lyricist Gazi Mazharul Anwar. The show is a joint venture by Channel i and Sharif Melamine. DhakaLive has news that under the direction of Jamal Reza, the show is being produced as a series of programmes with the thousands of songs by Gazi Mazharul Anwar. The show will feature only the songs of Mazharul Anwar, those will be sung in appropriate tune and lyric. Jamal Reza informed that the recording of the show has already been started and prominent singers like Rizia Parvin, Palash, Monir Khan, Dithi Anwar and Apu have lent their vocals to the songs of Mazharul Anwar. The singers from ‘Close-up 1’ and ‘Sera Kantho’ and others will also sing by rotation.
Gazi Mazharul Islam said about the show, “There are many beautiful Bangla songs in our country. Many people related to the songs have already expired, and many will expire in the future. But there is no such archive to preserve their memories. Feeling from the core of heart, Channel i and Sharif Melamine have taken a special initiative to keep alive the Bangla songs. Though this a tough job, I am grateful to them as they have come forward with courage.”
A proud daughter Dithi Anwar said about the show made with her father songs, “Channel i knows how to honour a veteran. My respect and love for them.”
Dithi Anwar sang three of her father’s songs titled ‘Shudhu Gan Geye Porichoy’, ‘Se Je Keno Elo Na’ and ‘Sobaito Bhalobasa Chay’ for the show.
Each episode of the musical show ‘Palki’ includes five to six songs, which will start airing from today at 6pm on Channel i. l
