Syed Fahim Munaim, chief executive officer and chief editor at Maasranga Television, has died of cardiac arrest.
Fahim breathed his last at his Gulshan residence around 6:00am on Wednesday.
Munaim had a long career in the news media. After holding the position of managing editor of the Daily Sangbad, the Morning Sun, and the UNB, he took over as the managing editor of 'The Daily Star'.
Fahim Munaim, the son of renowned journalist late Syed Nuruddin, had served as the press secretary to the chief adviser of the last caretaker government in 2007.
Later, he joined Maasranga Television as its CEO.
Munaim, who was to turn 63 in July, is survived by his wife and three sons, sources said.
According to the sources, decision on his burial will be finalised after his two sons return Dhaka from abroad. Till then, the body will be kept at Square Hospital’s mortuary.
