Fire at Dhaka's Baridhara multi-storied building doused

A fire that broke out at a 6-storey building housing a furniture showroom in the city's Baridhara J Block on Sunday afternoon was doused by firefighters.

Sources at the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) headquarters said the fire started on the 4th floor of the Vitra Furniture showroom building at around 4:24 pm.

Six fire fighting units rushed to the spot to control the fire, said Shahjahan Sikder, DAD (Media cell) of the FSCD.

The flames were brought under control around 5:20 pm and it was completely doused at 5:38 pm, he said

No casualties were reported and the cause of the fire was not immediately known, said the Fire Service official.
