Mujib Barsha Amateur Golf title for Samrat

Md Samrat Sikder of Bangladesh made a clean sweep  to lift in Mujib Barsha Cup Amateur Golf Championship 2020 title at the end of fourth round on Saturday at Kurmitola Golf Club course in the capital, according to an ISPR press release.

He is happy to march ahead with his golfing career after winning this title for the first time. Four rounds gross scores of Md Samrat Sikder are 70 + 70 + 71 +74 = 285 which is 03 under par. Mohammad Farhad of Bangladesh has secured runner- up trophy. His four rounds gross scores are 72 + 74 + 76 + 70 = 292 which is 04 over par. Sainik Shahab Uddin of Bangladesh Army has secured 3rd position by scoring 75 + 70 + 71 + 76 = 292 which included 04 over par. Though

Mohammad Farhad and Sainik Shahab Uddin scored same (298) but the result (runner-up and 3rd position) have been decided on back count basis.

After the 2nd round the Bangladesh female team 'A' comprising of Sainik Nasima Akhtar and Sainik Jakia Sultana of Bangladesh Army clinched the team title. After 2nd round by playing 13 over par score (149 + 152 = 301). Bangladesh ladies team 'B' comprising of Sainik Sonya Akhter and Sainik Ringkee Akhtar ended with runner-up title by playing 30 over par score (148 + 170 = 318).

In the ladies individual category, Sainik Sonya Akhter of Bangladesh Army won the title by scoring 04 over par (76 + 72 = 148), Sainik Nasima Akhter of Bangladesh Army secured runner-up position by scoring 05 over par (70 + 79 = 149). Another golfer from Bangladesh Army Sainik Jakia Sultana secured 3rd position by scoring 152 (76 + 76).

Finance Minister A H M Mustafa Kamal gave away the prizes amongst the winners in the evening at the Banquet Hall of Kurmitola Golf Club, Dhaka Cantonment. The Chief of Army Staff, Bangladesh Army and President of Bangladesh Golf Federation General Aziz Ahmed was also present in the ceremony as special guest.

Senior Vice President of Bangladesh Golf Federation Major General Md Enayet Ullah, Secretary General of Bangladesh Golf Federation Brig Gen Md Tajul lslam Thakur, Managing Director of Qrion Group  Salman Obaidul Karim, Vice Chairman of Mujib Barsho Cup Amateur Golf Championship 2020 Fariduddin Khan (Rumy), Tournament Director Brig Gen (retd) Abidur Reza Khan  and Joint Secretary of Bangladesh Golf Federation Brig Gen (retd) GSM Hamidur Rahman were also present.
