Serajur Rahman, a former deputy head of the BBC Bangla Service, died at a hospital in London on Moday at the age of 81, reports BBC Bangla.
He had been suffering from lung disease and other complications for long.
He died at London Royal Free Hospital at 11am on Monday, Sofia Rahman, wife of the late journalist, said.
He joined BBC World Service in 1960 and retired from BBC Bangla service in 1994.
He was highly applauded for his contribution to the Liberation War in 1971 through his role in BBC Bangla Radio programmes.
