Women’s premier cricket league from Jan 15

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Women’s Wing decided to start Dhaka Women’s Premier Division Cricket League (DWPDCL) for the upcoming edition of the 2018-2019 season.

As per the decision, the league is slated for January 15 next year. Along with that, they fixed at a date for the players’ transfer, which will be a day affair, scheduled to take place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) on January 7 during the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) sixth edition.

Bangladesh women’s team operating manager Nazmul Abedin Faheem reveled all to The Independent at his office of the SBNCS recently.

“We arranged First Division Women’s Cricket League, which has been finished on December 15. This time we’ve decided to organise Dhaka Women’s Premier Division Cricket League,” said Nazmul Abedin Faheem.

“If everything is okay, we will kick-start the premier league for the women’s cricketers on January 15 on the stroke of the domestic T20 tournament (BPL),” Faheem told The Independent.

“We’ve decided to hold players’ transfer at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on January 7,” he added.

This time holders Abahani Limited, Rupali Bank Krira Parishad, Mohammedan Sporting Club, Khelaghar Samaj Kalyan Samity, Kalabagan Krira Chakra, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan (BKSP), Gulshan Youth Club, Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Cricket Team, Keraniganj Cricket Academy and Sheikh Russel Sports Development Academy will participate in the players’ transfer.

Of them, Sheikh Russel Sports Development Academy has been promoted to Premier League from First Division as newly-entrant team.
