Mamo starts shooting for ‘Dahan’

After all the speculation, National Film Award winning actress Zakia Bari Mamo has started the shooting for the much talked about film ‘Dahan’ produced by Jazz Multimedia. She will play the role of a journalist in the film.

Initially, audience-admired model-turned-actress Azmeri Haque Badhan was selected for the role. Jazz Multimedia also presented Badhan as the heroine for the film during the Shubho Mahurat of the film held this year. But, due to Bandhan’s personal ground, Purnima was cast in her position. Later, Purnima too left the ‘Dahan’.

DhakaLive has news that Mamo took part in shooting for ‘Dahan’ in front of the Jonaki Cinema Hall yesterday.

Director Raihan Rafi said, “Mamo is perfect for the role of Maya, because of her glamour and acting.”

Mamo said, “I am very much excited about the film ‘Dahan’ because it’s a new project and also working with a new unit. There is a little bit tension whether I will fit in the shoes of a journalist or not. Rafi’s profound faith upon me fascinated me a lot. I tried to do my best for those directors, who keep faith upon me. My fans expect that I can complete shooting for ‘Dahan’ properly.”  

Mamo will be busy with the shooting for next 15 days.

In this Eid, Mamo-acted Eid special tele-drama ‘Sesh Porjonto’ directed by Shihab Shahin, ‘Anmone Tumi’ by Himi, ‘Ghaora Majid’ by Shamim Zaman, ‘Buker Majhe Nupur Baje’ by Salauddin Lavlu and ‘Porosh’ by Rubel Hasan created a buzz among the audience.
