Film actor Nayeem, also the cousin of the singer, informed that Saba Tani was found dead inside the bathroom of her residence in the capital’s Uttara area on Monday morning.
Saba Tani had been suffering from low blood pressure for a long time, Nayeem added.
Nayeem also said, “Mother of Saba Tani went to meet her younger sister in New Eskaton of the capital. Failing to reach the singer over her phone from Sunday night, the family members rushed to her Uttara residence next morning and finally, with the help of the caretaker of the house, they broke into the house and found Saba’s body in the bathroom.”
Saba left behind her son, mother, two sisters and two brothers to mourn her death.
The singer was widely admired for her a few popular numbers like ‘Kichhukhon’, ‘Bhalobasa Bahurupi’ and ‘Kono Baishakhi Raate Jodi’, among others.
The untimely death of Saba Tani has sent a shockwave to the county’s music world as well as to her fans and well-wishers.
Band singer Labu Rahman, who started the journey in the music arena almost at the same time with Saba Tani, said, “She was one of my good friends. This is really very painful the way she left. May Allah grant her Jannah.”
Singer Kumar Bishwajit said, “The sudden death of Saba Tani has created a deep wound in my heart. How true and difficult the death is—Saba Tana reminded us about this in the end. May she rest in peace.”
Singer Sumona Haq and Saba Tani were good friends. Sumona Haq said, “I am feeling alone after receiving the news. I went to her Uttara residence in the afternoon, but couldn’t see her there. Saba and I came across long way together. We performed together at a musical show on a TV channel last time. May Allah grant her Jannah.”
Singer Robi Chowdhury and Saba Tani earned huge admiration for their duet song titled ‘Bhalobasa Bahurupi’. The song was written by Liton Adhikari Rintu and tuned and composed by Pranab Ghosh.
Robi Chowdhury said, “Saba Tani was the most generous artiste with a beautiful mind. She could easily win the heart of anyone with her wonderful behaviour. After Shammi Akhtar, we have lost another good soul.”
