The Mathematics question paper of the SSC examination held yesterday and its answers were found circulating on a number of social networking pages hours before the exam began. A woman was detained by police in Rajshahi yesterday morning with a copy of the question paper in her mobile phone. The incident follows the alleged leak of question papers of all the SSC exams held so far - Bangla I and II, English I and II and Islam and Moral Studies.
After obtaining a question paper of Mathematics yesterday from such a platform, it was found to be identical to the original question paper. In Rajshahi, a college student was arrested on charge of possessing a leaked question paper of Mathematics. The arrestee, Rabia Islam Ria (21), daughter of Aminul Islam under Sonatoshpur area of the city, is a first year honours student of Rajshahi Government City College and a relative of an SSC examinee.
Aman Ullah, Officer-in-Charge (OC) at Boalia Model Police Station in Rajshahi said Ria possessed a set of 30 multiple choice questions (MCQ) in her mobile which matched the original question set of yesterday’s Mathematics examination.
Ria was detained by other guardians as she was seen assisting three examinees near the PN Government Girls’ High School right before the beginning of the exam at 10 am. She was later handed over to the police. After the commencement of the SSC examination on February 01, widespread allegations were made over the question paper leak. Various quarters confirmed that the questions papers of all the exams held so far were leaked a couple of hours before the examinations started.
The Education Ministry, on February 04, announced a bounty of Tk 5 lakh for information on question paper leak, in a bid to prevent such occurrence.
