RANGPUR: Implementation of the Prime Minister’s 10 special initiatives has already turned Bangladesh into a role model in upgrading life standard of the common people, reports BSS. The opinion came at a discussion on “Sheikh Hasina’s Special Initiatives” in ‘Bahirangon Anusthan’ at Town Hall auditorium in the city organised by Bangladesh Betar with assistance of the Ministry of Information on Saturday evening.
The main objectives of the function were to inform the common people about the Prime Minister’s 10 special development initiatives, successes achieved and future development plans.
With Rangpur Regional Director of Bangladesh Betar Sayeed Mostafa Kamal in the chair, Mayor of Rangpur Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu attended the function as the chief guest.
Deputy Director General (Programme) of Bangladesh Betar Salah Uddin Ahmed, its Director (Programme) Nasrullah Md Irfan and Director of Bangladesh Cricket Board Advocate Anwarul Islam addressed the function as special guests.
Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu stressed on proper implementation of the PM’s special initiatives and informing the common people about the successes achieved to inspire them in building a middle income nation by 2021 and developed country by 2041.
Sayeed Mostafa Kamal, in his welcome speech, narrated the Prime Minister’s 10 special initiatives of ‘Ektee Bari, Ektee Khamar’ project, Asrayan Prokalpo, digital Bangladesh, education assistance, women empowerment, electricity for all, social safety, community clinic and mental health, investment development and environment protection.
He discussed the successes already achieved under these initiatives in alleviating poverty, improving livelihoods, ensuring shelters for the homeless people, education, women empowerment, power generation, reaching health services and other fields.
Salah Uddin Ahmed narrated the epoch-making successes achieved in education, health, agriculture, poverty alleviation, social safety-net, power generation, road communication, women development and empowerment and digitisation and ICT sectors.
Nasrullah Md Irfan discussed the successes achieved by the government during the past eight years in the implementation of the Vision 2021, Charter of Changes, digitisation to accelerate pace of development and achieving millennium development goals.
