Bangladesh Under-23 cricket team will play their first practice match at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium (KSOAS) today ahead of the upcoming Emerging Teams Asia Cup, Bangladesh 2017.
The 50-over tournament, patronised by Asian Cricket Council (ACC) will commence from March 27.
A crop of national players will play the match and so there is an excitement among the youngster players centering the match.
Bangladesh shorter-formats captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza will return to cricket after a long-injury layoff with the practice match. Wicketkeeper-batsman Nurul Hasan Sohan, offspinner Sanzamul Islam will be seen with Mashrafe to play the match before flying for Colombo prior to the one day international series against Sri Lanka.
Spin all-rounder Shuvagata Hom was due to perform it but he could not play due to having in vacation.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) meanwhile finalised the list of the two teams, in where Mashrafe will lead Team Green and national discard all-rounder Nasir Hossain will guide Team Red.
Season campaigner Tushar Imran will be seen with batsmen Mohammad Mithun, Anamul Haque Bijoy, Mehedi Maruf, seamers Shafiul Islam, Mahbubul Alam Robin, Abu Haider Rony, Ebadot Hossain, leg spinner Tanvir Haider and all-rounder Abul Hasan Raju.
Experienced opener Shahriar Nafees was also scheduled to play the match but he could not perform due to his personal problem.
A string of youngster players including Saif Hassan, Afif Hossain Dhrubo, Zakir Hasan, Mohammad Saifuddin, Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Salman Hossain will also be seen in the match.
