ICT accepts charges against 
two suspects

The International Crimes Tribunal yesterday accepted charges against two war crimes suspects of Mymensingh for their alleged involvement in genocide and crimes against humanity during the War of Liberation in 1971, reports UNB. The accused are Riaz Uddin Fakir and Wajuddin Fakir of Phulbaria upazila of Mymensingh district. A three member-bench of International Crimes Tribunal-1 led by Justice Anwarul Haque took cognisance of five charges against the two and fixed May 16 for passing next order in the case. On March 23, the prosecution pressed the charges against the two war crimes suspects. On September 4, 2015, another accused of the case Haji Amjad Ali, who sustained injuries in a road accident in Gazipur city on August 12, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
