The Nation is celebrating the 46th Independence Day today. Bangladesh Television, Bangladesh Radio and private television channels are also telecasting different programmes thoughout the day to mark the historic day. Channel i is holding a day-long painting programme titled ‘Rong Tulite Muktijuddho’ like every year at the channel’s premises. About 50 veteran artists will participate in the painting event based on patriotism and Liberation War. Besides painting, patriotic songs will be presented by noted and young singers including Rezwana Chowdhury Bannya. Anchored by Afzal Hossain, Channel i will telecast the event live from 11am.
Channel i will also air an Independence Day special tele-drama titled ‘Madyo Raate Saat Mail’ directed by Abul Hayat at 7:50 pm. Dramatized by Fazlul Karim, the cast of the telefilm includes Toukir Ahmed, Jenny, Nazmul Huda Bachchu and others.
On the other hand, ‘Ekattorer Khudiram’ a children’s film based on the Liberation War will see its world premiere today on Channel i at 2:40pm. Scripted and directed by noted dramatist Mannan Hira, the government grant film stars a group of popular actors like Mamunur Rashid, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Dr. Enamul Haq, Momena Chowdhury, Munsi Mojnu, Chanchal, Chitra Chobi, Feroz Al Mamun, Sazzad Saju and others. The film also casts a group of child artistes – Sachcha, Rudra, Shakil, Antara, Modhumoni, Munna, Jewel Miji, among others. Banglavision will air a special musical programme ‘Hridoye Amar Bangladesh’ at 11:25pm, besides an Independence Day tele-drama titled ‘Bhoyal Raate Komolapur Station-a’, directed by Kaushik Sankar Das will be aired on the channel at 9:05pm. The drama casts Manos Bandyopadhyay, Shirin Bokul, Tanvir, Arnab, among others. On the occasion of Independence Day, RTV will air a special tele-drama titled ‘Biswas Ghatak’ at 8:20pm. Directed by Habib Masud, the drama casts Tarik Anam Khan, Afran Nisho and Prova in lead roles.
