CMCH power supply restored

The power supply of the Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) has been restored completely from yesterday 6pm after four days, said CMCH sources. All the services of the hospital became usual, said Brigadier General Dr Khondaker Shaidul Gani, director of CMCH. “A 2000 KVA Transformer has been replaced in the place of the oldest one yesterday,” added Gani. The transformer had reached the CMCH at 8:30am yesterday and the authorities were able to restore it at 6pm. About 2,200 patients of CHMCH have been suffering for three days and many services of the hospital have been suspended due to power outage as the hospital’s 50 years old transformer exploded.
On Thursday around 2pm, the transformer exploded leaving 39 wards without power. However, on Saturday around 2:30pm the authorities managed to supply electricity in a limited scale.
