Ovi Moinuddin receives BABISAS award again
For the praiseworthy contribution to the country’s entertainment-based journalism, eminent entertainment journalist Mohammad Ovi Moinuddin has received Bangladesh Binodon Shangbadik Somiti (BaBiSaS) award for the second time. He received the award, which has been named in memory of late Journalist Golam Kibiria, from the hands of Railway Minister Md. Mujibul Haque and President of BABISAS Abul Hossain Mojumder at the award giving ceremony, organised by Bangladesh Entertainment Journalists’ Association, on this Friday at Mirpur Indoor Stadium in the city.
Ovi Moinuddin shared his feelings on receiving the award, “I am thankful to the BABISAS family. The award, which has been given to me in recognition of my earnest work, will boost me up to be more dutiful towards my work in the future. I am also grateful to all the entertainment journalists of the country, without their unconditional support it was not possible for me to become today’s Ovi Moinuddin.” Born in Sunamganj, Sylhet, Ovi Moinuddin studied in the Sylhet Cadet College (SCC) and completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Mass Communication and Journalism from University of Dhaka (DU). He secured 18th position in the merit list of HSC examination. He learned classic and modern music from Ustad Ram Kanai, and became champion in a number of competitions in his student life at SCC and DU.
