Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested four members of an organized crime syndicate and rescued 46 victims from a house of Mirpur DOHS in the city on Monday
night.
The arrested syndicate members brought the rescued victims to Dhaka from different districts alluring them with promises of jobs in the airforce paying good money.
Detectives also recovered 50 fake seals, 46 non-judicial stamps and marriage deeds, 60 application forms (Ministry of Defense Constables) and 52 files of medical reporters from their possessions.
The arrested syndicate members are warrant Officer (Retd) of Airforce Md Siddiqur Rahman, civil staff (Retd) Md Jahirul Islam and their associates-Md Shawpan Hossain and Enamul Haq Liton.
Briefing reporters at DMP Media centre on Tuesday, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of DB (North) Sheikh Nazmul Alam said acting on a tip-off, a DB team led by its Assistant Commissioner (AC) Nishat Rahman Mitho conducted a drive at a house of Mirpur DOHS at about 8:00 pm, nabbed the syndicate members and rescued the victims.UNB
