Dhaka May 28: Indonesia is keen to import Walton brand motorcycle from Bangladesh.
Indonesian Ambassador in Bangladesh Zet Mirzal Zainuddin Ahmed expressed his country’s interest during his visit to Walton Hi-tech Industries on Saturday at Chandra of Kaliakoir in Gazipur, outskirts of the capital Dhaka. The Indonesian envoy expressed his satisfaction and glad to see the world standard manufacturing facility of the plant the manufactures motorcycle, fridge, television, air conditioner, etc.
During expression of views with the journalists after the visit, the ambassador said: “It is a matter of proud that such kind of heavy factory has been established in Bangladesh and it will help build a good image and expand export market of Bangladesh in the foreign countries”.
He hoped that Bangladesh would tap the potentialities of Indonesian open market and Walton would play an important role in expanding trade relations between Bangladesh and Indonesia.
 Seeing the state-of-art-technology of the factory, the ambassador commented that “Walton products produced in the factory are also standard and qualitative like products of developed countries”
Bangladesh and Indonesia have huge similarities in different fields like administrative system, religion, market policy, etc and Indonesia can importmotorcycles from Bangladesh to meet its domestic demand, he opined.
He said, “Every thing is very existing in the factory and Walton is well prepared to face all the challenges. Walton will be able to create its market at home and abroad”
He also assured the Walton executives of providing all kind of supports and facilities from him to expand its market in Indonesia. He also stressed sharing technical and other matters between Bangladesh and Indonesia to ensure manufacturing of world standard and quality electronics and automobile products.
The ambassador went round the factory which is set up on 20 acres of land at Chandra in Gazipur. Councilor of Indonesian Embassy Motaharul Djanan, Chairman of Walton Hi-tech Industries SM Shamsul Alam, Managing Director SM Ashraful Alam, Director SM Rezaul Alam, Deputy Director FM Iqbal Bin Anwar, Media Adviser Enayet Ferdous,International Marketing Manager Lokman Hossain Akash and other senior officials accompanied the ambassador during the visit to the factory.
Managing Director SM Ashraful Alam said, “In business Walton has already overwhelmed Bangladesh, and begun to touch foreign countries. Walton is now exporting its products to Asia, Middle East and African countries. It also wants to export its products to France, Italy, Germany, Spain and other technology developed European countries”.
He also said, “Electronics industry has been included in the export item list and Walton has known Bangladesh to the world through exporting its products to different countries of the world”.
Walton brand televisions, fridges and motorcycles are being exported to Qatar, UAE and Kuwait of Middle East, Ghana of Africa and India, Nepal and Bhutan of South Asia. It has also formally launched the marketing activities of its products to the USA and UK. Walton is going to manufacture some other electronics products very soon, he mentioned.
