Mass demo at camps seeking repatriation
Rohingya refugees in Cox’s Bazar yesterday (Saturday) staged demonstrations demanding "safe and voluntary" repatriation. The day marked one year of the brutal crackdown by the Myanmar army, at Rakhine State in Myanmar, that drove over 7,00,000 Rohingyas to Bangladesh. From 9am to 11am, the Rohingyas, including women and children, demonstrated at the Kutupalong, Balukhali, Palongkhali, Shamlapur, Madhurchhara and Whykhong refugee camps.
