Saif Sporting Club an emerging powerhouse in the domestic soccer looked to seal their place among one of the top ranking sides when the newly promoted team will play their maiden Bangladesh Premier League this season.
Saif Sporting started their preparation in different way as the team has started their conditioning camp in Kolkata since March 13. Their camp is located nearer to the Rabindra Sorobar Stadium. They are planning to play against Kolkata giants like East Bengal and Mohun Bagan before returning home. However, they played an exhibition match with East Bengal U-20 yesterday which they won by 1-0. Saif Sporting, a sister concern of the SAIF Powertec, one of the Port City based premier business corporate houses in the country, who bought the sponsorship right of the Bangladesh Premier League formed the team.
SAIF Powertec registered the football team Saif Sporting Club in the Bangladesh Champions League, second tier of the Bangladesh Premier League in the last season with huge commitment. They just tipped-off about their future to become one of the strong teams after winning the runners-up up trophy in the champions League and confirming their room in the top level domestic soccer competition.
Now to make their dream true comes as one of the powerhouses in the country’s football, they have already taken the initiatives with beginning their preparation in abroad for the upcoming season.
Saif Power Sporting also going to set an example with going outside the country for conditioning camp, what is absolutely a new culture in the country’s football while their full team is now in India.
The conditioning camp is being supervised by Serbian coach Nicola Kabazovic. They have already played a practice match against a second tier team of the I League.
As Saif Sporting is committed to write their name along side the local giants, they appointed six coaching staff of Serbia including the head coach Nicola Kabazovic.
Three foreign booters - a Serbian defender, a midfielder from Slovakia and a striker of Montenegro are among 24 players are in the camp.
