BSMRMU 12th Syndicate meeting held
The 12th syndicate meeting of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University (BSMRMU) was held at the temporary campus of the university at Pallabi in the capital on Tuesday.
During the meeting, the syndicate committee approved several proposals including examination regulation, forming a disciplinary board and short course curriculum of Supply Chain Management and Freight Forwarding.
All members of the committee were present at the meeting with BSMMU vice-chancellor Rear Admiral ASM Abdul Baten in the chair.
NSU allocates Tk 2cr to facilitate research
North South University (NSU) has allocated more than Tk 2 crore to facilitate research and promotional interests of the faculty members, says a press release
The research grant budget was approved by the board of trustees and syndicate to facilitate the research. There were more than 130 reviewers from both home and abroad. After finishing the departmental and school level evaluation by the Research Evaluation Committee, all the proposals were passed on to the CTRGC, the flagship committee for research. North South University (NSU) on Sunday organised a Research Grant Award Ceremony for the fiscal year 2016-17.
Prof Atiqul Islam, NSU vice-chancellor, awarded the faculty members with their regarded measures of research grants. Prof Dr GU Ahsan, pro-vice chancellor (designate), Dr Gour Gobinda Goswami, treasurer delivered speeches. Dean, School of Business Economics Prof Mohammad Mahboob Rahman; Dean, School of Engineering Physical Sciences Prof Md Sirajul Islam; Dean, School of Humanities Social Sciences Prof Abdur Rob Khan, Director, Graduate Studies Research Prof ATM Nurul Amin were present. Registrar, Md Shahjahan conducted the program.
Aguner Parashmoni screened at IU
KUSHTIA: Aguner Parasmoni, a film on Liberation War directed by Humayun Ahmed, was screened on Islamic University (IU) campus.
IU Satkhira Students Welfare Association organised the film show including freshers reception, farewell, unveiling souvenir and publishing calendar.
IU Vice Chancellor Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari addressed the function as the chief guest while Treasurer Prof M Selim Toha, Chief Advisor of the association professor M Mizanur Rahman and Proctor Dr M Mahbubar Rahman were present as special guests.
M Abdullah Al Mamun, President of the students association, presided over the function where its secretary Hasan Mehedi delivered welcome speech.
Rafsun Bulbul and Munmun Sultana Ontora jointly conducted the function. Director of IIER Prof M Maher Ali, Provost of Saddam Hossain Hall Prof Ashraful Alam, Professor of ICE department Tapon Kumar Zoddar, among others, 400 teachers and students were present. IU VC Professor Askari unveiled the souvenir Mangrove and published the calendar as the chief guest.
