Two people were shot dead and 10 others injured as a group of people, led by local influentials, attacked people of ethnic minority community in Akbarpur union of Patnitola upazila in Naogaon yesterday morning, reports UNB.
The deceased were identified as Mithun Oraon and Hafizul. According to witnesses, a group of people, led by local influential people attacked people of landless ethnic minority community of the locality over longstanding enmity.
The duo received bullet injuries during the attack as the attackers fired bullets indiscriminately, leaving the two dead on the spot.. Ten other people were reportedly injured in the attack.. The injured were admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) and Naogaon Sadar Hospital, said sources.. Abdur Rafiq, officer-in-charge of Patnitola Police Station confirmed the death of two people in a clash over land dispute..
