Shahnaz Rahmatullah receives lifetime achievement award

The Symphony Channel i Music Award 2016 was conferred on the winners of the different categories at the Ballroom of The Westin in the capitals Gulshan area on Friday. Organised by Channel i, the 11th edition of the event was held in a grand manner with the presence of various renowned artistes of the country. This year, the awards were distributed in a total of 17 categories divived into critics and popular choice category
In addition, for her outstanding contribution to the field of music, audience-admired singer Shahnaz Rahmatullah was conferred with the lifetime achievement award.
Channel i managing director Faridur Reza Sagar, managing director of Edison Group Jakaria Shahid, Channel i board of directors member Zahir Uddin Mahmud Mamun, Nayak Raj Razzak and National Film Award winning singer Syed Abdul Hadi handed over a crest, uttorio and a cheque worth Taka 1 lac to Shahnaz Rahmatullah. Ananda Alo editor Rezanur Rahman was also present on stage.
Shahnaz Rahmatullah expressed her feelings after being honoured with the lifetime achievement award, This is all because of the love and support of my fans. I would sincerely like to thank Channel i for this immense honour.
To note, in the beginning of the programme, one minutes silence was observed in memory of the deceased artistes.
Besides, a mesmerising musical programme was presented by the novice and senior artistes.
The award ceremony was directed by Shahidul Alam Sacchu and anchored by Farzana Brownia.
The award winner aresinger Priyanka Gope, Aditi Mohsin, Yasmin Mushtari, Momtaz, Kanak Chapa, newbie Nirbachita, music director Alauddin Ali, lyricist Robiul Islam Jibon. Meanwhile, singer Belal Khan and Konal received award for playback, while Ajam Babu for sound engineer, Shironamhin as best music band, Tanim Rahman Angshu for music video director and Plan B for cover design.
The four popular choice award recipients areFahmida Nabi for modern song, Obscure as best band, Samina Chowdhury as playback singer and Jinia and Oyshee receive the award jointly as newbie singer.
