RANGAMATI: Roads and Highways (R&H) department in Rangamati has launched eviction drive to recover encroached lands worth over Tk 100 crore at different places in the district, reports BSS.
The Roads and Highways department launched eviction drive in Rangamati on Monday.
Executive Magistrate of Chittagong Zone Abdul Mannan dismantled unauthorized structures of 61 families on Monday, said engineer Mamunur Rashid, Executive Engineer of Rangamati Roads and Highways.
Construction of boundary walls on recovered land is expected to begin soon.
The step to recover encroached land has been undertaken in line with the directives of the concerned ministry, Mamunur Rashid said.
The encroachers had been repeatedly notified to vacate the encroached lands, he further said.
