Nearly 400 people, including students, blocked Shahbagh intersection for more than two-and-a-half hours demanding arrest of the culprits. Around 300 students of Dhaka University (DU) brought out a procession from DU campus towards Shahbagh intersection at noon and held a rally and made human chains, halting traffic in the area.

The agitating students detained an Army car as it moved through the blockade, pasting a poster on it, asking, “Since when did the Cantonment become the residence of rapists?" Detained for around an hour, it was released with the help of police.
The protesters carried banners which demanded that the government provide security and protection for women. It also said, "Your silence gives validity for another rape and murder."
