The policy makers of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) decided in principle to renew the contract of the head coach Chandika Hathurusingha and bowling coach Heath Streak.
Both of the coaches have also expressed their interest to be with the Bangladesh cricket. While Streak’s 450 days contract had already ended, Hathurusingha’s two-year contract would come to an end this June.
“As per our discussion, we decided to continue with both of them,” said BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury yesterday.
“We need to talk to them once again and finalise the ins and outs of the contract. Then after the consultation with the board and board president we’ll take the final decision,” he said adding, both of the coaches were also keen to continue.
“Streak’s contract was ended while Hathurusingha’s contract would be expired in next June. If the board permits, we’ll renew the contract of both of them at the same time.”
Streak meanwhile said he put a request to continue with Bangladesh cricket.
“I have put in request. Now it’s up to the board and board president to come back and we will see what happens.”
“I have enjoyed it and yeah look its something that definitely I am hoping I can do. We will see what the BCB says.”
