2 held with tiger skin
Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two people along with a tiger skin from Sathalia village in Koyra upazila in Khulna on Monday.
At a press briefing in Khulna city, Major Abdullah Al Mehedi, deputy director of Jessore RAB-6, said acting on a tip-off, the elite force launched a drive in the area and arrested Sheikh Maniruzzaman, a resident of Gaborchaka Main Road area in the city, and Ramjan Ali, a resident of Darigaon area in South Keraniganj upazila of Dhaka, in the afternoon. The elite force also recovered a 9 foot-long tiger skin from their possession. The arrestees were handed over to Koyra Police Station.
One killed in road accident
A passenger bus overturned on the street near Postogola bridge edge in the capitals Shyampur area leaving one passenger killed and several others wounded Monday afternoon.
Duty officer of Shyampur Police Station Joynal Abedin told BSS that a Jatrabari-bound passenger bus coming from Mawa Ferry ghat overturned on the street when its driver lost control over the steering after reaching at the edge of Postogola Bridge on the River Buriganga.
One unidentified passenger died on the spot. At least five others injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Some of the injured were given first-aid from nearby clinics, he said.
