Country's first ever educational content sharing portal was launched yesterday aiming to make learning materials available for students, teachers and guardians as well, reports BSS.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid inaugurated the content sharing portal as the chief guest at a function in a city hotel. State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Vice- chancellor of the University of Asia Pacific, Prof Dr Jamilur Reza Chowdhury, Director General of Prime Minister's Office Neelufar Ahmed, among others, addressed the function with Managing Director and chairman of Ethics Advanced Technology Limited (EATL) MA Mubin Khan in the chair.
Nahid said, "We have made ICT as a compulsory subject in educational curriculum and all educational institutions have been brought under information technology (IT) facilities to enhance quality education in the country." Despite financial limitation, the government has distributed computer and other ICT facilities to create skilled human resources, he added.
"As part of massive digitization campaign, we have trained teachers on ICT to develop digital content to contribute the efforts to improve standard of education," Nahid added.
