A meeting of the Joint Working Group of Bangla-desh and Qatar is expected to be held here in the first week of March to discuss the import of manpower from Bangla-desh by Qatar, reports BSS.
A high level delegation from Qatar will visit Dhaka from March 2 to 5 in this regard, said a release.
Ambassador of Qatar to Bangladesh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Al-Dohaimi called on Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam BSc here yesterday and discussed the upcoming visit of Qatar delegation and the meeting of the Joint Working Group.
Nurul Islam BSc mentioned about his recent meeting with Qatar Administrative Develop-ment and Labour and Social Affairs Minister Issa Saad Al-Jafali Al-Nuaimi and said that the manpower export from Bangladesh will be discussed during the Joint Working Group’s meeting.
During the meeting, the Qatar ambassador said the Qatar government has been working to implement the issues that were discussed between the two sides during the visit of Nurul Islam BSc to Doha.
He said Qatar imported the highest number of manpower from Bangla-desh in 2015.
Secretary of the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Begum Shamsun Nahar, joint secretaries Abdur Rouf and Kazi Abul Kalam and deputy secretary Badrul Arefin were present at the meeting.
