The government has taken initiative to impart quality IT and cyber security training to about 2,500 officers of ministries, departments and directorates to improve public sector efficiency and security of government services, officials said, reports BSS. They said the World Bank financed ‘Leveraging ICT for Growth, Employment and Governance (LICT)’ Project of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) took the initiative to build capacity of government officials for using ICT and ensure security of government services.
“We have laid emphasis on protecting our own IT system and cyberspace mainly due to expansion of online services that have ensured people’s easy access to public services,” State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak told the news agency. He said the ICT Division has taken various steps, including enactment of cyber law and training of government officials at home and abroad, for building their capacity to run the e-governance without interruption and cyber-attack. Deputy Project Director of LICT Project and Director of National Data Centre Tarique M Barkatullah said the training of government officials will help in improving their efficiency to deal with all issues especially the cyber security.
