Prof. Radhavallabh Tripathi�s lecture at IGCC tomorrow

Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) is organising a lecture by Sanskrit scholar from India Prof. Radhavallabh Tripathi, former Vice Chancellor of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Delhi, on the topic Rabindranath and Sanskrit, at 6:30 PM tomorrow at the Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre, Gulshan-1, Dhaka. Prof. Radhavallabh Tripathi is one of the leading Sanskrit scholars in India. He was Head of Sanskrit Department in Dr. Harisingh Gour University, Sagar, Vice Chancellor of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Delhi, and Vice Chancellor of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth. He is widely acclaimed for his original contributions to the study of Sahityashastra and Natyashastra. He has published 159 books, 215 research papers and critical essays and translations of more than 30 Sanskrit plays and some classics from Sanskrit to Hindi.
Professor Tripathi has received more than 30 national and international awards and honours for his literary contributions, including Sahitya Akademi Award for Sanskrit Poetry and Shankar Puraskar of K.K Birla Trust.
Professor Tripathi has visited Holland, Austria, Germany, Thailand, UK, Nepal, Bhutan, USA and other countries on various academic assignments. He was sent by ICCR as Visiting Professor at Silpakorn University, Bangkok. He has delivered special lectures and key-note addresses in many national and international seminars.
Presently Dr. Tripathi is on a week-long visit to Dhaka under the aegis of India Bangladesh Foundation.
