A government order (GO) was issued yesterday for the Bangladesh women’s cricket team to visit Pakistan, as a first step for clearing the barriers about the tour, although the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is yet to take a decision. No cricket team, apart from Zimbabwe, has toured Pakistan since the heinous attack on Sri Lankan cricketers in 2009. However, the BCB's security team, after visiting Pakistan to assess the situation, has given the go-ahead for the tour. “The security team ensured the highest security for the women’s team,” state minister for youth and sports Biren Sikdar said yesterday. “This is an unconditional tour and for it, Bangladesh doesn’t expect anything,” he added. The team is supposed to fly to Pakistan on Sept 27 to play One-dayers and T20 matches.
