Rangpur Income Tax Zone collects Tk 21cr

Rangpur Income Tax Zone has collected over Tk 21.27 crore revenue as income taxes from the Income Tax Fairs which concluded in seven districts under Rangpur division yesterday, officials sources said.
Rangpur Zonal Tax Commissioner’s Office organised the weeklong Income Tax Fair-2015 at Zila Parishad Community Centre in the divisional city from September 16 to 22, reports BSS from Rangpur.
The four-day district level Income Tax Fairs were arranged at Dinajpur, Kurigram, Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Thakurgaon and Panchagarh while two-day fairs were held at Badarganj, Pirganj, Bochaganj, Syedpur and Fulabri upazila towns.
At the end of the fairs, Commissioner of Taxes for Rangpur Zone Animesh Roy briefed about achievements at the fair venue here in the city this evening in presence of high officials of taxes.
He said that Tk 21 crore 27 lakh 53 thousand and 748 has been collected as income taxes in these fairs this time which is much higher than Tk 3.19 crore collected from similar fairs last year under Rangpur Income Tax Zone.
