RAJSHAHI: A huge number of people particularly the teenagers are still rejoicing the Eid festival in the city although the main celebration day was on Wednesday. They are seen visiting the amusement spots especially the bank of the river Padma with joy and enthusiasm making the spots overcrowded till Saturday. Thousands of people, especially children, poured in and around the city’s parks, historic places and other recreation centres to enjoy Eid-ul-Azha, reports BSS.
Shahid AHM Kamaruzzaman Central Park and Zoo, Zia Shishu Park, Varendra Research Museum, BGB Amusement Point, Vadra Park, Padma Garden and Borokuthi amusement point drew huge crowd. The Central Park and Zoo, only big size amusement place of Rajshahi metropolis, has got a new look with massive development works.
Various beautification and development works like lake renovation, approach road, attractive boundary wall and two modern bridges on the lake were done. In addition to the modernisation work, effective measures were taken to procure new more beasts and animals.
Chief executive officer of Rajshahi City Corporation Shah Mumin said construction of colourful boundary wall, widen walkway and sitting place, concretisation of lake embankment and modernization of picnic corners were completed.
Two 29-meter long and three-meter wide curve bridges were constructed at a cost of Taka 1.36 crore making the park more attractive. Apart from this, every section of the park-cum-zoo was reshuffled with the main thrust of drawing attention of more visitors.
Children, young boys and girls wearing colorful dresses gathered these places where small makeshift shops were set up to sell different homemade foods and toys. Eid gatherings of children and cultural functions were also held in different areas in the city. This time, Borokuthi Padma River bank and Lalon Shah River resort were decorated with new look and amusement flavor to attract more visitors.
Another report adds from Rangpur: The recreational, entertainment and tourist spots in this division have been witnessing a huge rush of visitors since Wednesday to enjoy the blissful occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha festivity.
The enthusiastic people of all ages, particularly youths, wearing colourful dresses are visiting these recreational spots maintaining the festive Eid mood.
In the city, thousands of people are thronging ‘Proyas’ Entertainment Park on the Ghaghot riverbank, Fantasy Zone, Tazhat Zamider’s Palace, Chikley Lake, Rangpur Zoo, ‘Surovi Uddyan’ and other recreational spots to get refreshed and enjoy the festivity.
The people are rushing to colourfully decorated recreational spots like ‘Vinnojagat’, ‘Ananda Nagar’, Teesta Road Bridge point, Second Teesta Bridge at Mahipur Ghat, ‘Neelamborer Jalmahal’, Teesta Barrage Canal and other areas outside the city.
Similarly, countless people are thronging the ‘Shopnopuri Artificial Amusement Park’, ‘Kantzeu Mandir’, ‘Ramsagar’, Dinajpur Rajbari’ and ‘Gore
Sheed Eidgah Maidan’ in Dinajpur, ‘Neelsagar’ and Teesta Barrage in Nilphamari, ‘Bhitargarh Maharaja Dighee’, ‘Tentulia Dak Banglo’, Mahananda riverbank, ‘Kazi and Kazi Tea Estate and Banglabandha Land Port in Panchagarh, the Dharla Bridge in Kurigram and many other places of tourists’ attraction in the division.
All these recreational places have been decorated with new look and amusement flavour to attract more visitors to the full capacity amid admirable security measures in all eight districts under the division. Hundreds of young boys, girls, school-college-university level students, youths and children with their parents wearing colorful dresses are gathering at these places where temporary fairs, shops and business centres have been set up to sell different handcrafts, foods and toys.
Superintending engineer of Rangpur City Corporation Amdad Hossain and authorities of different recreation centres said tens of hundreds of people of all ages are coming for passing their joyful time and sharing pleasure of Eid-ul-Azha festivity.
Talking to BSS, students Amjad Hossain, Lucky Begum, Lovely Yasmin, Arman Haque, Kulsum Khatun and Sharmin Haque at different recreational spots in Rangpur said they were excited to enjoy the beauty at those recreational spots.
Mayor of Rangpur Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa said an increasing number of people are visiting the recreational places to enjoy beauty of the nature following improvement in their socioeconomic condition during the last 10 years.
Besides, some seasonal traders at these entertainment places are selling different foods, toys and handicrafts at their temporary shops. “More steps will be taken to further improve the quality of the recreational places in Rangpur city in future to attract the children, parents, boys, girls, students and youths throughout the year and specially during festivities,” he added.
